Custom cable assembly
Harting cable assemblies for heavy industry.
Pecko builds custom cable assemblies around Harting's Han heavy-duty connectors: inserts wired with crimp contacts or screw and cage-clamp terminals, hoods and glands fitted to the cable, and every circuit matched to your pinout, for machinery, power distribution and rail equipment.

Overview
What is a Harting cable assembly?
A Harting cable assembly is cable terminated in Harting connectors, typically from the Han family of heavy-duty rectangular connectors. Each Han connector pairs an insert, which carries the contacts, with a hood or housing that latches to its mate. Han E and Han D inserts hold power and signal contacts in fixed layouts, while Han-Modular frames mix power, signal and data modules in one connector. Either way, machines can be split apart and reconnected quickly.
- Rectangular hoods and housings in standard sizes
- Han E, Han D and modular inserts
- Locking levers for quick, secure mating
- Cable glands sized to the jacket
Features
Made for machines and harsh sites
Han connectors let heavy equipment come apart and go back together without rewiring. These traits shape how we plan and build each Harting assembly.
-
Modular insert frames
Han-Modular hinged frames take a mix of modules chosen per circuit, letting a single connector carry motor power, sensor signals and network data.
-
Choice of termination
Depending on the insert, wires are crimped into contacts or held by screw or cage-clamp terminals, suiting both factory builds and field wiring.
-
Metal or plastic housings
Die-cast metal hoods suit heavy use and shielded cable, while Han-Eco housings offer a lighter option in reinforced plastic.
-
Lever locking
A lever pulls hood and housing together and holds them closed, a lock that is easy to check by eye and quick to release.
Capabilities
Our Harting assembly capabilities
From stripping heavy power conductors to fitting the final gland, each Harting assembly is built and checked in our own factories.
Contact crimping
Crimp contacts terminated with tooling matched to each contact and wire size, from fine control wire to heavy power conductors.
Pinout and grounding
Each contact placed where your pinout specifies, with the ground conductor connected to the connector's protective earth termination.
Module layout help
Our engineers help choose Han-Modular modules and frame size to suit each circuit's current, signal type and contact count.
Multicore cable dressing
Multicore cable stripped in stages, each core cut to its own length, so conductors reach their contacts without strain or spare slack.
Sourcing Han components
Genuine Harting hoods, housings, inserts and contacts sourced through our supply network, with approved equivalents only where your drawing allows them.
Pre-shipment testing
Continuity, pin mapping, insulation resistance and locking checks, run to the test plan agreed in your quote before each order ships.

Applications
Where Harting assemblies are used
Han connectors are a familiar sight wherever heavy equipment must be installed, moved or serviced without rewiring.
Machine building
Pluggable links between machine modules, control cabinets and motors on production and packaging lines.
Rail vehicles
Car-to-car jumpers and onboard equipment connections facing vibration, weather and routine maintenance.
Robotics
Servo power, encoder feedback and network data carried to robot arms through one modular connector.
Material handling
Conveyors, sorters and lifting equipment installed in sections and joined with keyed, locking plugs.
Test stands
End-of-line and service test rigs that connect to each unit through a single quick-mating plug.
Process plants
Pumps, valves and drives that are swapped out during maintenance without disturbing the field wiring.
Quality
Quality built into every connection
Quality is designed into the process rather than inspected in at the end. Every program follows the same four steps, in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
Agree the specification
We review your drawing, materials and acceptance criteria with you before anything is built.
Prove the first article
A prototype or first article confirms fit, form and function before production starts.
Build to documented processes
Production follows documented work instructions at every step, from cutting to final assembly.
Test before it ships
Every order is tested against the plan agreed in your quote before it leaves the factory.
FAQ
Questions buyers ask
Can't find your answer? Send us your drawing and questions, and our engineers will come back to you.
Which Harting connector families can you build with?
We build with Harting's Han heavy-duty connectors, including Han E and Han D inserts, Han-Modular frames and modules, and Han-Eco housings, along with other series named on your drawing. Send the part numbers, or list your circuits and their currents, and our engineers will confirm a suitable combination.
Do you supply the matching panel housing as well?
Yes. A Han connection needs a hood and insert on the cable and a matching housing and insert on the panel, or a coupler for cable-to-cable links. We can supply the complete mated set, wired to your drawing, so both halves are checked against each other before shipment.
Should I choose crimp, screw or cage-clamp termination?
It depends on how the assembly is built and serviced. Crimp contacts suit factory-built assemblies and repeat production, while screw and cage-clamp inserts let wires be connected or changed in the field without crimp tools. Our engineers can recommend a termination when they review your drawing.
How are Harting cable assemblies tested?
Testing follows the plan agreed in your quote. Typical checks include continuity and pin mapping across each insert, insulation resistance between circuits, confirmation of the ground connection, and a mechanical check that the lever locks and the gland grips the cable, all before shipment.
