Cable assembly
A single, protected link between two points.
- Connectors fitted at each end, ready to plug in
- Usually one point-to-point connection
- Often shielded and jacketed as a single cable
- Built around signal integrity or power delivery
Cable assembly manufacturer
Pecko designs and builds connectorized cable assemblies for OEMs, made to your drawing and specification, from a single prototype to contract production runs.
The basics
A cable assembly is a cable, or a set of conductors, cut to length and terminated with connectors at each end, so it installs as one ready-to-plug part. Most make a single link: a sensor to its controller, an antenna to a radio, a battery to its load.
A single, protected link between two points.
An organized system that brings many circuits together.
Why custom
An off-the-shelf cable is a compromise. A custom assembly is specified for the exact link it has to make, and the conditions it has to survive.
Length, pinout, connectors and labeling match your drawing, so assemblies install without rework.
Conductors, shielding and terminations chosen for your electrical load and data rates.
Jackets, seals and strain relief matched to heat, moisture, chemicals and vibration.
Assemblies built right the first time drop straight in and stay in service.
Quality
Quality is designed into the process rather than inspected in at the end. Every program follows the same four steps, in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
We review your drawing, materials and acceptance criteria with you before anything is built.
A prototype or first article confirms fit, form and function before production starts.
Production follows documented work instructions at every step, from cutting to final assembly.
Assemblies are tested against the plan agreed in your quote before they leave the factory.
Capabilities
From a single prototype to contract production, we handle the whole build: wire processing, termination, molding, protection and test.
Every step of wire and cable processing, in prototype quantities or production volumes.
Keep assemblies organized and protected wherever they are installed.

Engineering guide
Reliable assemblies start with the right electrical and mechanical decisions. These are the questions our engineers work through with you.
Noise, reflections and timing errors often start in the cable. Getting them right keeps data and signals clean.
An assembly has to keep working wherever it is installed.
How an assembly is routed, handled and serviced shapes how long it lasts.
Our range
Pecko builds cable assemblies with connectors from 92 makers. Search the list, or open one of our top 20 brands for the assemblies we build with it.

Industries
Application-specific cable assemblies and harnesses for sectors where a failed connection is not an option.
Materials
Performance depends on what an assembly is made of. We specify conductors, insulation and shielding for your electrical, thermal and mechanical requirements.
Copper for conductivity; tinned or silver-plated copper for corrosion resistance and high frequencies; fine stranding for flexibility.
From general-purpose PVC to high-temperature fluoropolymers, chosen for temperature, flexibility and chemical exposure.
Foil, braid or both, with drain wires, to keep interference out and signals in.

FAQ
Can't find your answer? Send us your drawing and questions, and our engineers will come back to you.
A cable assembly is usually a single protected cable, terminated with connectors at each end, that makes one point-to-point connection. A wire harness organizes many wires and circuits into one bundle that branches out to several connection points across a product or machine.
A drawing or sample, the quantities you need, connector part numbers or requirements, the cable specification (conductors, gauge, shielding and jacket), lengths and tolerances, the operating environment, any testing or compliance requirements, and your target delivery date. If some of this is still open, our engineers can help you define it.
Yes. We build prototype and low-volume assemblies so you can validate fit, form and function before committing to production volumes, then carry the same specification into production.
The main drivers are the connectors and cable you specify, the number of conductors and terminations, length, any overmolding or custom tooling, labeling and protection, testing requirements and order quantity. Higher volumes spread setup and tooling costs across more parts.
Lead time depends on the assembly's complexity, material availability and order quantity. We confirm a delivery schedule with every quote.
We work with bare, tinned and silver-plated copper conductors and a range of insulation and jacket materials, including PVC, TPE, PUR, XLPE, silicone and fluoropolymers such as PTFE and FEP, with foil or braid shielding where it is needed. We recommend materials to suit your electrical, thermal and environmental requirements.
We agree the test plan with you as part of the quote. Common checks include continuity and short-circuit testing, insulation resistance or hi-pot testing, pull-force testing of crimped terminals, and visual inspection against the drawing.

Yes. OEMs use us as a contract cable assembly manufacturer, from small prototype runs to high-volume production, while they keep full control of their designs and specifications.
