Overview
What is a JAE cable assembly?
A JAE cable assembly is wire or cable terminated in connectors from Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, which builds aerospace equipment as well as connectors for automotive, industrial and consumer products. In vehicles, its compact MX34 board-to-cable series links control units to the switches and sensors around them. The fine-pitch FI-R series carries LVDS and other high-speed serial signals from a main board to a flat-panel display, over fine discrete wire or micro-coaxial cable.

- Fine-pitch display links for LVDS
- Discrete wire or micro-coaxial cable
- Retainers that lock terminals in place
Features
Details that matter in JAE assemblies
From vehicle modules to slim displays, JAE connectors are made for tight spaces. These are the traits we account for when planning each build.
-
Terminal retention
Retainers on families such as MX34 lock each terminal in its cavity, so contacts stay in place during mating and service.
-
High-speed display links
FI-R connectors are designed for differential signals such as LVDS, and the cable is chosen to keep each pair's impedance consistent from board to panel.
-
Wire or micro-coax
Display links can use fine discrete wire for cost and flexibility, or micro-coaxial cable where shielding and signal quality matter more.
-
Compact, keyed housings
Small housings save space in crowded modules, while keyed shapes and positive latches guide each connector into place and hold it there.
Capabilities
Our JAE assembly capabilities
Automotive harnesses and display links call for different skills. We handle both in our own factories, following your drawing at every step.
Terminal crimping
Crimp terminals applied with tooling suited to each JAE series, then checked for crimp height and pull force against your requirements.
Micro-coax termination
Fine coaxial cable stripped in stages and soldered to display connectors, with shields grounded and each line in the position your drawing sets.
Housing loading and locking
Each terminal seated in its cavity and the retainer fully engaged, so the connector arrives ready to mate with no loose contacts.
Harness layout and taping
Branches, tape, tubing, clips and labels laid out to your drawing, for harnesses that route cleanly through a vehicle or enclosure.
Component sourcing
Genuine JAE housings, terminals and retainers sourced through our supply network, with approved equivalents used only where your drawing allows.
Final electrical test
Continuity, short-circuit and pin-order checks, plus any additional tests your application needs, run to the plan agreed in your quote.

Applications
Where JAE assemblies are used
JAE connectors are specified across vehicles, displays and electronic equipment where compact size and secure mating both count.
Automotive electronics
Body, chassis and comfort modules connected to the switches and sensors they control.
In-vehicle infotainment
Wiring for head units, instrument clusters and center displays, including their video links.
Displays and monitors
LVDS links between main boards and flat panels in monitors, televisions and digital signage.
Office equipment
Internal harnesses for printers, copiers and multifunction devices, linking control boards, displays and sensors.
Medical equipment
Display and internal wiring for patient monitors, imaging consoles and diagnostic instruments.
Industrial equipment
Sensor, motor and control connections using compact JAE circular and wire-to-board connectors.
Quality
Quality built into every connection
Quality is designed into the process rather than inspected in at the end. Every program follows the same four steps, in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
Agree the specification
We review your drawing, materials and acceptance criteria with you before anything is built.
Prove the first article
A prototype or first article confirms fit, form and function before production starts.
Build to documented processes
Production follows documented work instructions at every step, from cutting to final assembly.
Test before it ships
Every order is tested against the plan agreed in your quote before it leaves the factory.
FAQ
Questions buyers ask
Can't find your answer? Send us your drawing and questions, and our engineers will come back to you.
Which JAE connector series can you build with?
We build with commonly specified JAE series, such as MX34 automotive connectors, FI-R display connectors and JN1 circular connectors for industrial equipment, along with other series named on your drawing. Send the part numbers, or describe the connection, and our engineers will confirm a suitable housing, terminal and cable combination.
Can you build LVDS display cables with JAE connectors?
Yes. We build display links with JAE FI-R cable connectors, using fine discrete wire or micro-coaxial cable as your design requires. Send the panel and main-board connector details, and our engineers will check the pinout and pair assignments with you before the first build.
Can a harness mix JAE and other connector brands?
Yes. Vehicle and equipment harnesses often combine JAE connectors with parts from other makers, along with splices and branch points. Send your drawing or a sample, and our engineers will review connector choices, wire gauges and routing before we quote.
How are JAE cable assemblies tested?
Every order is tested to the plan agreed in your quote. Typical checks include continuity, shorts and pin order, retainer engagement and crimp pull-force sampling, and visual inspection against your drawing. All checks are completed before the order ships.
