Overview

What is contract cable assembly?

Contract cable assembly means handing production of your own cable or harness design to a specialist manufacturer. You supply the drawing, bill of materials and test requirements; the manufacturer sources parts, builds, tests and ships to your schedule. It suits companies that design their own products but would rather not run wire processing, crimping and test equipment in-house, or that need more capacity than their own line provides.

  • Built to your drawing and specification
  • Materials sourced globally and locally
  • Tested to your agreed test plan
  • Three factories across Asia

Features

What contract assembly delivers

Contract manufacturing works when the parts you receive match the design you released, order after order. This is what we deliver on each program.

  • Build to print

Assemblies made exactly to your released drawing, bill of materials and workmanship notes, with no substitutions unless you approve them.

  • Consistent repeat orders

Documented processes and work instructions keep each lot matching the approved first article, whether the order is small or large.

  • Managed material supply

Connectors, wire and components sourced through global and domestic suppliers, with your approved manufacturer parts used wherever the drawing names them.

  • Agreed testing, every order

Electrical tests and visual inspection carried out to the test plan agreed in your quote, so every shipment is checked the same way.

Capabilities

Our contract manufacturing capabilities

Every stage of the build, from incoming material to packed shipment, handled in our three factories, with manufacturing experience going back to 1981.

Drawing and BOM review

Engineers check your drawing and bill of materials before quoting, raising any ambiguity or sourcing risk up front.

First article approval

Where your program calls for it, first pieces are built and checked against the drawing, then held for your sign-off.

Wire processing and termination

Cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering and IDC termination across a wide range of wire gauges and connector families.

Harness and cable build

Multi-branch harnesses, overmolded cables and shielded assemblies, laid up on form boards and fixtures made for your design.

Labeling and packaging

Part numbers, date codes and custom labels applied, and assemblies coiled, bagged and packed the way your line wants them.

Three production sites

Orders placed in our Singapore, Malaysia or China factory to suit your market, supply chain and cost targets.

Applications

Who uses contract cable assembly

Companies in the 20 industries we serve hand us cable production so they can focus on design and final assembly.

  • Industrial equipment

Control, sensor and power harnesses supplied for each machine, panel or instrument built.

  • Medical devices

Internal and external cable sets built to the device maker's drawing and documented requirements.

  • Automotive

Harnesses and cable assemblies for vehicle subsystems, charging equipment and aftermarket accessories.

  • Consumer electronics

Appliance and device cables produced in volume to match product launch schedules.

  • Telecom and datacom

Power, signal and interconnect cables for network, server and communications hardware.

  • EMS providers

Contract manufacturers who fit our cables into the products they assemble for their own customers.

Quality

Quality built into every connection

Quality is designed into the process rather than inspected in at the end. Every program follows the same four steps, in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.

  1. Agree the specification

We review your drawing, materials and acceptance criteria with you before anything is built.

  2. Prove the first article

A prototype or first article confirms fit, form and function before production starts.

  3. Build to documented processes

Production follows documented work instructions at every step, from cutting to final assembly.

  4. Test before it ships

Every order is tested against the plan agreed in your quote before it leaves the factory.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

Can't find your answer? Send us your drawing and questions, and our engineers will come back to you.

What documents do you need to quote a contract build?

A drawing, bill of materials and your expected quantities are enough to begin. Add any test requirements, labeling and packaging instructions your program uses, and we will quote to them and raise any gaps before production.

Can you build to a specific workmanship or industry standard?

Tell us the standard or customer requirement your assemblies must meet, and we will build and inspect to it. Our engineers review it alongside your drawing during quoting, so any special materials, processes or checks are agreed before the first order.

Which factory will build my order?

We have factories in Singapore, Malaysia and China. Tell us where your products are assembled and where they ship, and we will suggest the site that best fits your supply chain, schedule and cost targets.

Can you take over production from another supplier?

Yes. Send the current drawing, bill of materials and a production sample if you have one. Our engineers compare them, flag any differences or missing detail, and we build first pieces for your approval before the full transfer.
