Overview

What is a JST cable assembly?

A JST cable assembly is a set of wires terminated in connectors from one of JST's families, such as PH, XH, SH, GH or ZH. Their small pitch and low profile make them a standard choice for linking batteries, sensors, displays and small boards inside compact products, where space is tight and every connection has to seat correctly the first time.

  • Fine-pitch, low-profile housings
  • Wire-to-board and wire-to-wire options
  • Polarized to prevent mis-mating
  • Built to your pinout and lengths

Features

Features of JST cable assemblies

The details that make JST connectors a good fit for compact designs, and that we get right on every assembly we build.

  • Compact, fine-pitch design

Small pitch and low-profile housings fit crowded boards and slim enclosures without giving up a secure, reliable connection.

  • Secure locking

Friction-lock and positive-lock styles, chosen for how much vibration and handling the connection will see in service.

  • Matched wire gauge

Wire gauge and insulation matched to each series' terminals, so every crimp sits within the connector's rated range.

  • Flexible pin counts

Housings in a wide range of pin counts, in single-row and dual-row styles, wired in your exact circuit order.

Capabilities

Our JST assembly capabilities

Every step from bare wire to tested assembly, carried out in our own factories and built to your drawing.

Precision wire processing

Wire cut and stripped to consistent lengths, so terminals seat fully and assemblies install without slack or strain.

Controlled crimping

Terminals crimped with tooling matched to each connector series, then checked against your crimp requirements.

Custom pinouts

Circuits wired in the exact order your drawing specifies, including crossovers, jumpers, split ends and unused positions.

Protection and finishing

Heat-shrink, sleeving, twisting and printed labels added wherever the assembly needs them.

Testing and inspection

Continuity, polarity and visual checks, run to the test plan agreed in your quote.

Component sourcing

Connectors, terminals and wire sourced through our global supply network, or your approved parts when your drawing names them.

Why Pecko

Why OEMs choose Pecko

A manufacturing partner should make your program simpler. These are the reasons customers bring their assemblies to Pecko, and keep them here.

Design-for-manufacture advice, global sourcing and efficient processes keep your unit cost down.

  • Small and large volumes

From a handful of prototypes to high-volume production, with capacity across three factories.

  • Caring customer service

A team that answers technical questions quickly and follows your program from quote to delivery.

Applications

Where JST assemblies are used

JST connectors turn up wherever electronics have to be small, light and quick to assemble.

  • Consumer electronics

Battery, speaker and display links inside handheld devices, wearables and small appliances.

  • Automotive

Internal connections in infotainment units, sensors and electronic control modules.

  • Industrial automation

Sensor, indicator and control-board wiring inside compact controllers and instruments.

  • Medical devices

Internal wiring for portable monitors, handheld diagnostic equipment and small patient-side devices.

  • Robotics and drones

Lightweight links for motors, sensors and batteries, where every gram counts.

  • Power and energy

Balance and monitoring leads for battery packs and small power supplies.

Quality

Quality built into every connection

Quality is designed into the process rather than inspected in at the end. Every program follows the same four steps, in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.

  1. Agree the specification

We review your drawing, materials and acceptance criteria with you before anything is built.

  2. Prove the first article

A prototype or first article confirms fit, form and function before production starts.

  3. Build to documented processes

Production follows documented work instructions at every step, from cutting to final assembly.

  4. Test before it ships

Every order is tested against the plan agreed in your quote before it leaves the factory.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

Can't find your answer? Send us your drawing and questions, and our engineers will come back to you.

Which JST connector series can you work with?

We build assemblies across the commonly used JST families, including PH, XH, SH, GH and ZH. Send us the series and part numbers from your drawing, or describe the connection you need, and we will confirm the right housing and terminal combination.

Can you match an existing JST cable or sample?

Yes. Send us a sample, or photos showing the connector markings, lengths and wiring order, and our engineers will document it as a drawing for your approval before anything is built.

What is the minimum order quantity?

We build prototype quantities as well as production volumes. Tell us the quantities you need at each stage of your program, and we will quote the most economical way to build them.

How are JST cable assemblies tested?

Every order is tested to the plan agreed in your quote. Typical checks include continuity and polarity, correct pin order, crimp pull-force sampling and visual inspection against your drawing, all before the order ships.
