Overview

What is a Phoenix Contact assembly?

Phoenix Contact is a German manufacturer of terminal blocks and industrial connection technology, and a Phoenix Contact cable assembly is wire or cable terminated in its connectors. The Combicon range covers pluggable PCB terminal blocks and connectors, M8 and M12 circular connectors serve sensors and actuators, and Heavycon rectangular connectors handle power and signal on machinery. Much of the range is designed for control cabinets and factory floors.

  • Pluggable terminal blocks for board connections
  • M8 and M12 sensor and actuator cables
  • Heavy-duty rectangular connectors for machinery
  • Screw, spring-cage and push-in connections

Features

Features of Phoenix Contact assemblies

Phoenix Contact connectors are built for industrial wiring, where installers need quick, secure terminations and connections that survive vibration and dust.

  • Push-in wire terminals

Push-in terminals accept solid or ferruled wires without a screwdriver, holding them with a spring that keeps steady pressure on the conductor.

  • Pluggable board connections

Combicon plugs let a wired harness unplug from its PCB header in one step, so boards and modules can be swapped without rewiring.

  • Sealed circular connectors

M8 and M12 connectors couple with a threaded ring and seal against dust and spray, suiting sensor and actuator wiring on machines.

  • Modular heavy-duty inserts

Heavycon housings take inserts for power, signal and data, combining several circuits behind one locking lever on a machine or cabinet wall.

Capabilities

Our Phoenix Contact capabilities

Industrial terminations depend on careful wire preparation. We prepare, terminate and check every conductor in our own factories, following your drawing.

Ferrule crimping

Ferrules crimped onto stranded conductors so every strand is captured, giving screw and push-in terminals a solid, consistent contact surface.

Terminal block wiring

Combicon plugs and terminal blocks wired to your pinout, with screws tightened to the specified torque and every wire checked for retention.

Circular sensor cables

M8 and M12 connectors wired to shielded or unshielded cable in the coding and pin count your device requires.

Heavy-duty connector builds

Heavycon inserts wired, fitted into housings and sealed at the cable entry with glands sized to the jacket.

Genuine Phoenix Contact parts

We source genuine Phoenix Contact connectors through our supply network, and fit approved equivalents only when your drawing allows them.

Marking and testing

Printed wire markers applied to your labeling scheme, then continuity and pin-assignment checks run to the test plan agreed in your quote.

Why Pecko

Why OEMs choose Pecko

A manufacturing partner should make your program simpler. These are the reasons customers bring their assemblies to Pecko, and keep them here.

  • Expertise and experience

Wire harness and cable assembly work since 1981, across 20 industries and 25,000+ projects.

  • Quick turnarounds

Clear quotes, confirmed schedules and regular updates, from the first prototype to every production release.

  • High flexibility

Engineering changes, revisions and schedule shifts handled without starting your program over.

  • Cost-effectiveness

Design-for-manufacture advice, global sourcing and efficient processes keep your unit cost down.

  • Small and large volumes

From a handful of prototypes to high-volume production, with capacity across three factories.

  • Caring customer service

A team that answers technical questions quickly and follows your program from quote to delivery.

Applications

Where Phoenix Contact assemblies work

Phoenix Contact connectors are at home wherever industrial wiring has to be installed quickly, serviced easily and left running for years.

  • Control cabinets

Pre-wired terminal block and Combicon harnesses that speed up panel building and testing.

  • Factory automation

M12 cables linking sensors, valves and I/O modules along conveyors and assembly lines.

  • Machine building

Heavycon interfaces between machine modules, drives and cabinets, so sections can be serviced or replaced individually.

  • Building automation

Control wiring for HVAC controllers, lighting control panels and access systems in commercial buildings.

  • Energy systems

Wiring for inverters, battery storage cabinets and substation control equipment.

  • Water treatment

Sensor and pump control cabling in water and wastewater treatment plants.

Quality

Quality built into every connection

Quality is designed into the process rather than inspected in at the end. Every program follows the same four steps, in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.

  1. Agree the specification

We review your drawing, materials and acceptance criteria with you before anything is built.

  2. Prove the first article

A prototype or first article confirms fit, form and function before production starts.

  3. Build to documented processes

Production follows documented work instructions at every step, from cutting to final assembly.

  4. Test before it ships

Every order is tested against the plan agreed in your quote before it leaves the factory.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

Can't find your answer? Send us your drawing and questions, and our engineers will come back to you.

Which Phoenix Contact connectors can you build cable assemblies with?

We build with Combicon pluggable terminal blocks, M8 and M12 circular connectors and Heavycon heavy-duty connectors, as well as other Phoenix Contact parts your drawing names. Send the part numbers, or describe the circuits and environment, and our engineers will confirm suitable parts and terminations.

Do wires need ferrules for screw or push-in terminals?

Solid wire can usually go straight into the terminal, but fine-stranded wire is best fitted with ferrules. A ferrule keeps every strand together, so none are cut or splayed when the terminal clamps down. We follow your drawing, and where it is silent, our engineers recommend ferrules sized to each wire.

Can you build M12 cables with a specific coding and pinout?

Yes. M12 connectors come in several codings, each keyed for a different use such as sensors, fieldbus, Ethernet or power, so mismatched parts cannot mate. Tell us the coding, pin count and cable your devices need, and we will confirm the wiring on a drawing before production.

Can you supply pre-wired harnesses for control cabinets?

Yes. Pre-wired harnesses with Combicon plugs, ferruled ends and printed markers can cut wiring time in the cabinet and reduce wiring errors. Send the panel layout or wiring list, and our engineers will turn it into a harness drawing for your approval before building.
