Overview

What is a TE Connectivity assembly?

A TE Connectivity cable assembly is wire or cable terminated in connectors from TE, formerly Tyco Electronics, whose range includes the AMP and Deutsch product lines. Mate-N-Lok connectors carry power in appliances and industrial equipment, MTA-100 connectors terminate discrete wires by insulation displacement, Superseal 1.5 and Deutsch DT connectors keep moisture out on vehicles and machinery, and Faston terminals make quick push-on connections to components.

  • Power and signal connector families
  • Crimp, IDC and push-on terminations
  • Sealed options for vehicles and machinery
  • Several TE families in one harness

Features

Features of TE Connectivity assemblies

Each TE family solves a different problem, from carrying power to sealing out water, so the right choice starts with what each circuit has to do.

  • Sealed connector systems

Superseal 1.5 and Deutsch DT connectors seal around each wire and between the mated halves, keeping moisture and dirt off the contacts.

  • Power-ready housings

Mate-N-Lok connectors are a long-standing choice for power wiring, with latching housings and terminals sized for heavier conductors than signal connectors take.

  • Strip-free IDC termination

In MTA-100 connectors, each wire is pressed into a contact slot whose edges cut the insulation and grip the copper, with no stripping needed.

  • Quick-connect terminals

Faston receptacles push onto matching tabs on switches, heaters, motors and other components, in insulated and uninsulated styles to suit the application.

Capabilities

How we build TE assemblies

TE publishes application specifications covering tooling, wire range and crimp quality. We build to them, then test each order to your agreed plan.

Applicator crimping

TE crimp terminals are applied on applicators set up for each terminal and wire size, with crimp height and pull force sampled.

IDC wire termination

MTA connectors terminated with tooling that seats each wire to full depth in its slot, with the wire order checked against your drawing.

Sealed connector assembly

Individual wire seals matched to insulation size on Superseal 1.5, sealing plugs in unused cavities and wedgelocks seated on Deutsch connectors.

Mixed-family harnesses

A single harness can carry Mate-N-Lok power, MTA signal and sealed Deutsch connectors, with breakout positions and lengths taken from your drawing.

Protection and marking

Convoluted tubing, braided sleeving, heat-shrink and printed wire markers applied wherever your drawing calls for them.

Electrical and visual checks

Continuity, pin-position and seal-presence checks, plus any further electrical tests, carried out to the test plan agreed in your quote.

Why Pecko

Why OEMs choose Pecko

A manufacturing partner should make your program simpler. These are the reasons customers bring their assemblies to Pecko, and keep them here.

  • Expertise and experience

Wire harness and cable assembly work since 1981, across 20 industries and 25,000+ projects.

  • Quick turnarounds

Clear quotes, confirmed schedules and regular updates, from the first prototype to every production release.

  • High flexibility

Engineering changes, revisions and schedule shifts handled without starting your program over.

  • Cost-effectiveness

Design-for-manufacture advice, global sourcing and efficient processes keep your unit cost down.

  • Small and large volumes

From a handful of prototypes to high-volume production, with capacity across three factories.

  • Caring customer service

A team that answers technical questions quickly and follows your program from quote to delivery.

Applications

Where TE assemblies go to work

TE's mix of power, signal and sealed families puts its connectors in equipment from kitchens to construction sites.

  • Home appliances

Mate-N-Lok and Faston connections for power and controls in dryers, ovens, dishwashers and water heaters.

  • HVAC systems

Blower, compressor and thermostat wiring in furnaces, air handlers and rooftop units.

  • Commercial vehicles

Deutsch DT connections for lighting, sensors and body wiring on trucks, buses and trailers.

  • Construction equipment

Sealed harnesses for work lights, joysticks and hydraulic controls on excavators, loaders and aerial lifts.

  • Industrial equipment

MTA and Mate-N-Lok wiring between boards, transformers and fans inside power supplies and control units.

  • Powersports and marine

Superseal connections for gauges, switches and accessories on motorcycles, ATVs and small boats.

Quality

Quality built into every connection

Quality is designed into the process rather than inspected in at the end. Every program follows the same four steps, in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.

  1. Agree the specification

We review your drawing, materials and acceptance criteria with you before anything is built.

  2. Prove the first article

A prototype or first article confirms fit, form and function before production starts.

  3. Build to documented processes

Production follows documented work instructions at every step, from cutting to final assembly.

  4. Test before it ships

Every order is tested against the plan agreed in your quote before it leaves the factory.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

Can't find your answer? Send us your drawing and questions, and our engineers will come back to you.

Do AMP, Tyco and TE Connectivity part numbers refer to the same connectors?

Often, yes. AMP became part of Tyco Electronics, which was later renamed TE Connectivity, and many AMP part numbers are still in use under TE. Send the numbers on your drawing, even older AMP ones, and we will confirm the current part, or flag any that have been replaced.

Which TE connector families can you build with?

We build with TE families such as Mate-N-Lok, MTA-100, Superseal 1.5, Faston and Deutsch DT, as well as other TE series your drawing calls for. Still choosing? Describe each circuit's current, wire size and operating environment, and our engineers will suggest suitable families.

What does a Deutsch DT harness need to seal properly?

Sealing depends on three details: contacts crimped for the wire gauge, insulation within the diameter range the rear grommet is designed to seal, and sealing plugs in every unused cavity. The wedgelock must also be fully seated to hold the contacts in place. Our engineers check each point against your drawing before production.

Do you use genuine TE connectors or compatible alternatives?

We build with genuine TE housings, terminals and seals, sourced through our supply network. Compatible parts from other makers exist for several popular TE families, and we use an approved equivalent only when your drawing allows it, since mixing makers' housings and terminals can affect fit and sealing.
